Nordic Walking UK are delighted to support a number of charities in a variety of ways
British Heart Foundation - Walk in the Park challenge 19th September in Milton Keynes
In 2009 we:-
Provided FREE poles for a number of Age Concern projects
Offered FREE training to several University students in order to help them to carry out research into the benefits of Nordic Walking for conditions such as Breast Cancer and Parkinsons disease
Provided information about Nordic Walking and how it can help diabetics plus free taster sessions to readers of SWEET magazine (Diabetes)
Entered several teams into the Race for Life at venues all over the UK pictures on our flickr pages
Provided reduced cost training solutions for numerous community programmes including Age Concern and Breast Cancer projects.
Joined forces with the BHF to hold two Nordic Walking fundraising events in 2009 with a dual message that Nordic Walking is a great way to both prevent the onset of and aid recovery from Heart Disease. This years event will be even bigger and is on 19th September in Milton Keynespictures on our flickr pages
