  1. I’m doing the Lyke Wake Walk on Saturday 1st June for charity. This is 38-42 miles from Osmotherley to Ravenscar across the North Yorkshire moors. With the aid of my trusty poles I am undertaking the Cowley challenge i.e to complete the distance within 24 hours for charity. This is no mean feat. There are steep climbs, drops, blanket bogs, exposed windy peaks and largely no route markers or land marks. Training through winter has not been easy, on some days it has had to be abandoned due to 6 foot snowdrifts. I’m still not convinced I’ll finish, both me and my training partner ( a non-pole walker) are starting to suffer the effects of niggling injuries associated with endurance training. I aim to give it my best shot though!

    • WOW! – thanks for letting us know – good luck – will you write us a review of how it went and send some pics for our facebook page please?

  2. Hi,
My race number for the Grasmere Gallop is 1 (preceded by whatever prefix the organisors decide upon – last year it was either 600 or 800).

I entered last year and, much to my surprise, came in 13th out of 34, in just over 1 hour 50 mins. It was really well organised and a great day out. As a result, I got my entry for this year in almost as soon as it opened, back in August last year.

  3. Can you please tell me where my nearest club is. I have tried for several months to join a club without success. My post code is EH51 9JD
