Welcome! I’m Josine and I run Nordic Walking Tonbridge. I’m keen to share my love of Nordic Walking with you, in the fantastic countryside around Tonbridge. It is easy to learn and the fitness benefits are huge, not to mention the positive impact on mental well-being from exercising outdoors with like minded people!
Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – the poles (which are different from trekking poles) will ensure you engage your core and use your upper body as well as your legs to get a full body workout. The poles will also propel you along, which means you will work harder and burn more calories, but with the support of the poles, it won’t necessarily feel harder!

Role: Lead Instructor and Business Owner
I have always loved walking. I’ve done all sorts of exercise during my life – running, spinning, boxercise……but walking is always what I come back to and the only thing that I never tire of doing! In May 2020 I discovered Nordic Walking – which took my walking to a different level and as it uses the whole body (not just the legs!), I found it as beneficial as running but without the impact!
In September 2020, after a challenging few months of juggling home schooling and a busy career in finance, I took the radical decision to leave the world of finance behind me and retrain as a Nordic Walking instructor. Nordic Walking Tonbridge was launched in April 2021 and I haven’t looked back. My fitness – both mental and physical, is probably better than it has ever been and Nordic Walking has connected me to the community in which I live and the people around me, in a way that I never thought possible. I absolutely love what I do and I hope you will too!

I have thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from Josine's local walks and her patience, guidance and expertise in Nordic walking is exceptional. Also looking forward to exploring more of the local area but also exercising too!
Finally! I’ve found an exercise that raises my heart rate, works my entire body in the fresh air that compliments my Pilates so well!
Nordic Walking has been a great addition to my exercise regime. The walks are expertly led but also great fun. I’d recommend anyone give it a try to see how it works your body harder than regular walking!
