I was looking for a safe, social, welcoming, friendly way to become more physically active after retiring from teaching and the flyer inviting me to a Nordic Walking Taster session seemed ideal.
Everyone was very friendly and I instantly thought it was for me. I met more people when I did my training course, and everyone helped each other as we learnt the basic techniques. I became hooked and did as many walks as I could fit in. I love discovering new places in our beautiful Hampshire countryside and sharing my passion for the great outdoors with other like-minded people.
I have experienced the benefits of Nordic Walking first hand – I no longer have knee pain, have lost a total of three stone, am fitter, have reduced my blood pressure medication, have more energy, gained confidence and a renewed enthusiasm for life.
My aim as an instructor is to spread the word of the fantastic benefits of Nordic Walking, help people become more active, mobile and enjoy being out in our beautiful countryside, along with the social side which enhances total well-being.
