This walk follows the disused railway line (Harland Way) from Wetherby to Spofforth, loops off to Kirk Deighton and then re-joins the Harland Way and back to Wetherby. At around 4.7 miles, the walk takes just under two hours.

This session is suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health. Many of our members are seeing the benefits of participating in the wellness sessions.

A lovely walk up onto Hergest Ridge. Starting from the lane just beyond Hergest Croft Gardens, a steady but very manageable climbs brings us up onto the top of the ridge. From there, it's an easy walk along the top before looping down and round to return to the start. Fantastic views, good terrain underfoot.
Bring snacks/drinks/lunch for the walk. Optional cafe in Kington at the end.

Led this month by Walk Leader, Ruth Evans The '2024 Ice Cream Friday Tour' is a series of monthly walks of moderate pace, of between 5 & 7 miles, ideal for those who love ice-cream and great countryside walking locations around Lancashire & Cheshire! They will be led by our walk leaders Ruth Evans & Miriam Kletz & run monthly on a Friday between April & September 2024. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat!
THIS MONTH - Join Ruth for the first 2024 Ice Cream Tour walk of the year, this month starting from Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm. This five and a half mile walk starts and ends at Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm, and is on mostly flat terrain. It takes in the Transpennine Trail, the Bridgewater Canal, Dunham Town, and Dunham Massey. The Ice Cream Farm will be open post-walk for their delicious ice cream, and/or a light lunch. Visit https://www.dunhammasseyicecream.com/ for more information. There are no toilets at the start point, but there are toilet facilities at Dunham Massey Hall, partway round the walk. Maybe sneak in an extra ice cream too at the Snugbury's Ice Cream Parlour at Dunham Massey!
Meeting point: Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm, 34 Station Road, Dunham Massey, WA14 5SG. Leave the M56 at junction 7 & follow signs for A56 Lymm. At the Bowdon Interchange roundabout, take the A56 Dunham Road towards Altrincham. Turn left at the traffic lights onto the B5160 Charcoal Road, which becomes Woodhouse Lane. Follow the B5160 for approx 2 miles going pastthe entrance for NT Dunham Massey. After a sharp right hand bend look for the signpost for Ash Farm & turn into the Farm car park where the Ice Cream Farm shop is. The official Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm address on Google Maps is 34 Station Road, Dunham Massey WA14 5SG but it is a continuation of the B5160 Woodhouse Lane before it becomes Dunham Road.
