I’m a relative newcomer, but Nordic Walking has already given me so much. After proper instruction from a qualified teacher, I now enjoy regular walks and my fitness and stamina have definitely improved. In addition, I have discovered a warm and welcoming group of local people. I highly recommend it!
You can’t beat learning with an instructor who can help you identify and correct any bad habits especially if you are new to the sport.
The Nordic Walking group, of which I am a member, has provided me with both physical and mental benefits. I was looking for a way to exercise with enjoyment during the Covid era and a friend introduced me to a super Nordic Walking group. I learned the walking technique in a ‘Power of the Poles’ session thanks to the great instructor who also explained the mechanics of it re the body and gave me confidence. Nordic Walking tones your legs and arms, strengthens your core and, as well, the aerobic exercise improves your fitness. Walking out with the friendly group in the countryside and parks, gives a sense of wellbeing and there is encouragement for each other. Having a competent instructor and walk leader with the group reassures us that we have a safe, total body workout each walk - including our minds!
