Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

Today`s Walk: WEST WOODS. We walk around the Wansdyke path towards the edge of the woods and then climb up to the top of the ridge above Oare. Great views and then a walk back towards Gopher woods and back into the woods.

6 miles with some hills.

 This walk is a longer walk and is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless activiator poles.

Length and Grade: A 6 mile walk with some ascents and descents from West Woods

Location: Start at the car park off the Clatford road.

Notes: There are no facilites on this walk so please bring a snack/drink for a mid or end walk break where we can sit and take in the views (weather permitting). Maybe muddy so wear waterproof shoes and maybe gaiters.

Location Notes:

West Woods is just outside Marlborough. Approximately two miles outside Marlborough take a left turn signed Clatford. Drive up to the crossroads and straight over. About one and a half miles along this road the woods and car park are sign posted on the right.
