Walk Description:

Come and learn how to turn walking into a total body exercise with poles.

The POWER of POLES Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and Nordic walking poles to aid the user gain the best technique and results! A total body workout suitable for all ages and abilities. The Power of Poles course will introduce you to the wonderful world of Nordic walking – a fun, sociable and affordable way to improve your health and fitness.

Our induction course will ensure that you will learn the basics of Nordic walking and gain confidence with your Nordic Walking skills.  You’ll then be able to join our GEAR 1 AND GEAR 2 regular group fitness walks, along with our special events and socials.  

This course is delivered over 2 x 1-hour sessions:

·         The first session will ensure you get the correct movement and technique using strapless poles

·         The second session will enable you to practice your technique and we will then help you select the right poles and walks for YOU!  

SESSION DATES : 10th June at 10am + 17th June at 10am

Please book and pay for this session and we will add you to the 17th June; there will be no additional cost.

Nordic Walking Poles are provided for all of our training courses.   

 

 

CANCELLATIONS

You are free to cancel your booking using the booking system up to 48 hours before a walk commences.

If you need to cancel your booking within 48 hours the start time of the event, you must contact Tracy Reeve by telephone on 07792 070286. Please do not remove yourself from the attendance list.   Any refund will be discretionary and will be dependent on you contacting Tracy Reeve (or nominated deputy) in advance. If you are a Direct Debit member you may be charged the full walk price. When there is a special event listed the LATE CANCELLATION policy may be more than 24 or 48 hrs and will be noted in the walk description.  

Please ensure your PARQ is up to date and you discuss any changes to your health or medication with your walk leader.  

Please also ensure that you have any medication that you might need with you for the walk.  

We would ask you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the walk so that you can get warmed up safely.

Please ensure you are at the address stated in your Exercise Anywhere account.

Location Notes:

The car park is at the end of Frogmoor Lane, off the Harefield Rd - WD3 1NB (off the A404). There are the 3 main lakes - Bury Lake, Stocker's Lake, and Batchworth Lake, and also access to Springwell Lake, the Ebury Way cycle path and also other areas of open land, or woods. Close to the car park, there are toilets and The Cafe in the Park (with outside seating) available for after walk refreshments. Our meeting point is the grassy area between the cafe and the car Park. Routes from this venue may include paved pathways, woodland footpaths, tracks and open fields and is usually flat... unless we choose the hilly route!.
