Walk Description:

A gentle paced walk of approximately 2 miles moving at a pace of 20+ min/mile.

Mostly a Gear 1 and Gear 2 walk over mixed terrain, including a range of functional exercises and Active 10 segments to ensure you get that heart pumping!

The gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter!

These walks include exercises that help with flexibility, balance and strength whilst using poles to improve general fitness and increase joint mobility.  Suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health.

If you need to hire some poles, please email nordicwalkingwatford@gmail.com. There is a £2 hire charge to the walk leader on the day and pole hire subject to availability

Sign up to our Direct Debit payment package to get access to unlimited walks, priority bookings and free training sessions.

CANCELLATIONS

You are free to cancel your booking using the booking system up to the start time of the walk.

Please bear in mind that the walk leader may have already left home and may not pick up a late cancellation in a timely manner.

If you are cancelling within an hour of the walk, please try to contact the walk leader personally to let them know you are not attending.

Please ensure your PARQ is up to date and you discuss any changes to your health or medication with your walk leader.

Please also ensure that you have any medication that you might need with you for the walk.

We would ask you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the walk so that you can get warmed up safely.

Location Notes:

The official car park is at the bottom of Cassiobury Park Avenue / Gade Avenue (WD18 7LG). Go past the Watford Met Line station to the bottom of the hill then turn right into the car park. The car park can get very busy. Please note you will need to display a car parking ticket - it is free parking for up to 2hrs. The meeting point is at the furthest end of the car park, near the disabled parking bays and the Cassiobury Park information sign post. This is a lovely area of parkland, rivers, nature reserves, children's areas, and it links into the Whippendell Woods area as well (see below). There is a cafe. The Adventure walk may take you by parkland, canal, rivers, cross the golf course or circle Whippendell Woods finishing with a loop of Cassiobury Park. Routes from this venue may include paved pathways, woodland footpaths, tracks and open fields and gentle inclines. LOW LIKELIHOOD OF MEETING LIVESTOCK Toilets are available at both the Cha Cafe and Daisy's.
