Walk Description:

A sociable, moderately paced ADVENTURE walk of approximately 5 miles with a pace of 17-18 min/mile.

Mostly a Gear 2 walk with occasional short bursts of gear 3 where appropriate and on mixed terrain.  

Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors.  

If you need to hire poles, please email nordicwalkingwatford@gmail.com. There is a £2 hire charge to the walk leader on the day and pole hire subject to availability.

CANCELLATIONS

You are free to cancel your booking using the booking system up to the start time of the walk.

Please bear in mind that the walk leader may have already left home and may not pick up a late cancellation in a timely manner.

If you are cancelling within an hour of the walk, please try to contact the walk leader personally to let them know you are not attending.

Please ensure your PARQ is up to date and you discuss any changes to your health or medication with your walk leader.  

Please also ensure that you have any medication that you might need with you for the walk.  

We would ask you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the walk so that you can get warmed up safely.  

Location Notes:

Woodoaks Farm lies just to the west of London at Maple Cross in Hertfordshire. It extends to just over 300 acres and includes arable and pastureland and around 75 acres of semi-natural woodland. Woodoaks is currently home to The Creative Juices Brewing Company, The Tea Shack and Romey Brough Artist Studio. It has a mixture of grassland, woodland and orchard and a good variety of walks. Heading from Watford to Denham on the A412, turn right just after the roundabout onto the farm track heading to Woodoaks. Parking is adjacent to the open barns in front the garden area. Free parking is available and a cafe on site with portaloo.
