Walk Description:

NOTE START TIME is 11.40 this week.  Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the Thursday Motivator Nordic Walk is an gentle/easy pace 1 hour walk. This session is ideal for those wanting to improve their fitness & who just want to have a Nordic Walk, fresh air and chat. Start times and locations vary to give variety on a week by week basis so please check carefully each week but will be in the Salford area.

This week - starting from RHS Garden Bridgewater Car Park

Meeting point - RHS Garden Bridgewater Car Park (far end). RHS Garden Bridgewater is located off the A572 Leigh Road and can be accessed via Junction 13 of the M60 via the Worsley interchange roundabouts or from the A580 East Lancashire Road via the A577 or A572 . Follow the brown signs. Turn off the A572 Leigh Road at the RHS Bridgewater traffic lights onto Occupation Road. Follow the access road down and turn left in the car park. Park in the rows furthest away from the visitor centre on the left, immediately as you turn in the car park. This is where we will meet. The car park is free. There are toilets immediately on the left as you enter the visitor centre.

What3Words:///nights.tender.count takes you to the garden & car park.

Google Maps - search for RHS Garden Bridgewater.

Strapless or strapped Nordic Walking poles may be hired at a cost of £1 (coin on the day).

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive walking boots or shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictates it!

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water or a hot drink in a flask 2 - any medications/inhalers you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications.

Please note - you can cancel online up to the evening before the walk. Unfortunately, automatic refunds are not allowed after this time. Please contact Susan directly via phone/text on 07738 931710 if you need to cancel nearer to the start time so we’re not waiting for you. Likewise, please phone/text as well as using the online system if you want to book on at the last minute - we don`t want to go without you!
