Walk Description:

This is a special event, which involves everyone.  Whether you prefer a short or a longer walk, you can participate in this special walk at your own pace. With the 10/10 walk, you have the choice of two distances, either 10km (6.2 miles) or 10 miles.

We start and finish both distances at the same place, so you get the excitement of the special with everyone together before you go on your selected distance, meeting together again later to celebrate.

The 10 miles will be walked at a steady pace 2. There will be stops for drinks and a snack. We will have helpers on the course to check your progress.

The 10k will be walked at a Pace 1. Again, there will be breaks and no one will be left behind.  The venue is Dover Lane and we will start at 8am. Plenty of shade and before the midday sun.

PACE Explained:

PACE 1  Approximately 3 to 3.5 miles per hour. A comfortable pace for anyone who wants to walk and talk. There is time to stop and take photos etc.

PACE 2 Approximately 3.5 to 4.5 miles per hour. This is a steady pace which might make your breathing a little heavier, especially on the hills.

PACE 3 Approximately 4.5 to 5 miles per hour. This is for the more experienced walker who knows they can push the pace. There will be times where they will be breathless but there is also recovery (usually on the flat or downhill).

Please be assured that we have a NO DROP POLICY (no none gets left behind) and the walk leaders will always ensure we use different methods to cater for different needs within the group.
