Walk Description:
From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.
Today`s Walk: Devizes town up to Roundway Hill and then back via Olivers Castle and bloody ditch. Interesting site with Civil War history. The hill is also a SSSI and has many orchids in the early summer.
Length and Grade: 8 miles with a steep climb up to Roundway Hill and a more gentle descent via the lanes.
Location: Devizes Wharf car park. Charges apply.
Notes: no facilities on the walk - Bring water and a snack as this is a longer walk. Can have lunch in town after the walk.
