Walk Description:

Please park in the lay-by along Elder Road, or on the roadside. There is also a car park off of Manor Road. Turn right off Elder Road.

This walk truly immerses you in the stunning landscapes that are depicted in Thomas Hardy novels as well as the woodland planted by Brian May of Queen as part of a huge conservation project Voted as the most popular scenic walk by the local NW group, it incorporates the ancient village of Bere Regis with links to Kings John, Henry III and Edward I.

The village and nearby Woodbury Hill feature in many of Hardy’s novels and the church is where Tess of the d’Urbervilles found the relics of her supposed Ancestors.

A delightful walk through woodland, heath, river meadows and rolling farmland  – not to be missed.

Location Notes:

Plenty of off street parking in Elder Road meet by the parkland
