Walk Description:

Our Friday evening Nordic walk takes us around the ancient Viking settlement of Barkby with the option to travel onto the village pub The Malt Shovel for an evening meal and/or drink if wanted.

We will take in the walk along the brook and point out the various footpath trails we hope to do when drier underfoot, then off to the main centre and to the head of the footpath across to Syston, taking the lane leading towards Thurmaston and then through the little wooded area and back to our starting point. Mainly, on the level this walk is suitable for all.

A short journey by car to the pub car park afterwards.

Location Notes:

No facilities available at parking location. Toilets and refreshments available elsewhere in village and at Roots farm shop
