THIS MONTH - Join Miriam at Wheatacre Woods Nature Reserve & Colliers Moss Common, Burtonwood. A mainly flat route of around 5.5 miles on good paths with the option of a short steady climb to see the extensive views.  Wheatacre Woods Nature Reserve is a pleasant woodland, managed by the Woodland Trust and part of the Mersey Forest. Meeting Point - Wheatacre Woods Car Park, off Gorsey Lane, Burtonwood, WA5 4HP. Travelling West, leave M62 at junction 8. At the roundabout at the top of the slip road, take the 5th exit (in effect turn right) onto Burtonwood Road. Follow Burtonwood Road, which then becomes Clay Lane, for approx 1.25miles. Turn left into Gorsey Lane, & the free car park is on the right immediately before a BLIND BEND after approx. 50yds. This is a blind bend so exercise extreme caution when entering or exiting the car park.
