Walk Description:

A new walk from a relatively new Nature Reserve. A former quarry that has been thoughtfully turned into a reserve for rare bird species and other local wildlife. Based around freshwater lakes on clay soil there are number of trails, some stoney and some clay that take you around the reserve and into Knighton old forest with links to WW2 RAF WArmwell.

A fairly flat short walk with a couple of gentle inclines and stops along the way to enjoy and spot local wildlife at bird hides.

Bring a snack so that we can stop near the end to sit and watch the nature around us or you can head back to your car.

No facilities at the car park - car park has a few large pot holes so take your time on entering.

Use what3words camps.broached.released and that takes you direct to car park as it is not signposted from the road side.

Location Notes:

From Crossways take the road towards West Stafford. About 1/2 a mile from Warmwell you will come to a turning on the left into what looks like a quarry. But turn in here and take the immediate right into a large gravel car park marked Knighton Nature Reserve. Use What3words ///camps.broached.released
