Walk Description:

Our Easy Monday morning walks are a great way to practice your technique and take a gentle approach to improving your technique. Great for those new to nordic walking or those looking for an easier walk level.

Todays walk: A easier morning walk at Avebury. We will end this walk with optional Yoga WALX movements for Well Being for 15 minutes.

Notes: NT car park

Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – it makes something we can all do… twice as effective! Nordic Walking uses poles to in order to add two major benefits to walking.

The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs The poles help to propel the walker along – this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!

Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.

Note: To participate in regular Nordic WALX, you must have completed our Nordic Freedom Course.

You must re-visit your PARQ and answer all questions including decalrations on COVID 19. Please bring your own equipement or if you need to borrow poles you will be provided with Activator strapless poles which are much easier to clean.

All activities will respect social distancing guidelines of 2 metres apart.

You can wear a mask if you would prefer to but this is not mandatory.

Location Notes:

The NT car park has charges but is free to members. If you are not a member I have one spare car park pass which I allocate on a first come first service or you can park in the Red Lion pub which is £3 and then walk back to meet us at the main car park. There are toilets in the village near Avebury Manor.
