Note 10.20am meet up for a prompt 10.30am start. Led this  month by Walk Leader, Ruth Evans  The '2024 Ice Cream Friday Tour' is a series of monthly walks of moderate pace, of between 5 & 7 miles, ideal for those who love ice-cream and great countryside walking locations around Lancashire & Cheshire!  They will be led by our walk leaders Ruth Evans & Miriam Kletz & run monthly on a Friday between April & September 2024. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! 

THIS MONTH - Join Ruth for the fifth of this year's Ice Cream Farm Walks, from Mobberley Ice Cream Farm. Mobberley is one of the oldest parishes in England, with St Wilfrid's Church dating back to 1245. This five and a half mile walk starts and ends next to Mobberley Ice Cream Farm, and is mostly flat with some (but not many!) stiles. (Please note we park just down the road  50 yds from the farm.) The walk starts at the parking area opposite St Wilfrid's Church, and takes in fields, lanes, Mobberley Station, an airport runway (from a safe distance obviously), and part of the North Cheshire Way! The Ice Cream Farm will be open (from 9am) before and after the walk for their delicious ice cream, coffee and/or lunch.

There are toilet facilities at the start & end of the walk at the Ice Cream Farm, and there are plenty of places for 'wild' on route.  

Meeting point: On Church Lane at the parking area, opposite St Wilfrid's Church, Church Lane, Mobberley, WA16 7RD which is about 50yds from the Ice Cream Farm. If coming out of Manchester on the M56, take Junction 6, and follow signs to A538, to Wilmslow/Hale/Macclesfield. At the first roundabout, turn right onto Wilmslow Road, A538. At the next roundabout, after about 1.6 miles, continue straight on A538, Altrincham Road. After half a mile, turn right onto Morley Green Road. After 0.6 mile, at the T-junction, turn right onto Mobberley Road. Follow the road for about 2.2 miles, and then turn right onto Hall Lane, B5085. After 0.7 mile, turn right on to Church Lane. Follow this road, and park on the right hand side of the road, opposite the Church, after the Church Inn and before the Ice Cream Farm on the corner.  DO NOT JUST INPUT THE POSTCODE INTO YOUR SAT NAV AS IT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE CENTRE OF KNUTSFORD (VERY LARGE POSTCODE AREA!)

Google Maps:search for St Wilfrid's Church, Church Lane, Mobberley. This should take you to the church (which is set well from the road,) and you'll then see the on road parking nearby which is where we will meet.

PLEASE NOTE, you need to have your own poles to attend this walk as no poles will be available for hire unless by prior arrangement. 

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive walking boots or shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictates it! 

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water or a hot drink in a flask 2 - any medications/inhalers you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications.
