Walk Description:
Canford Heath is known for being the largest heathland in Dorset and the largest lowland heath in the UK.
This walk is from the carpark on the left heading towards Poole on Gravel Hill.
Down some steps then along a path we meader up hill to reach the top of the heath. To avoid the mud and puddles a route is taken with extensive views towards Colehill.
This does mean a short steep descent. The route is flat for a while before going gently downhill on a wide path then joins smaller sandy paths which lead back to the cars. Some areas have tree roots.
This walk is around two miles and will take about an hour. There are no toilets.
This walk can be taken at a slower pace with several stops for water whenever you wish.
