Walk Description:

NEW 10.30AM START. Susan`s `Thursday Thunderer Workout Walk` is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk in the Salford area. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code.  Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking. Start times and locations vary to give variety on a week by week basis so please check carefully each week but will always be in the Salford area. 

Meeting point - Dukes Drive Car Park, off Parrin Lane, Monton, M30 8AP Meet in the car park at Dukes Drive. No toilets available. Dukes Drive car park is at the top of Parrin Lane. Turn left into the car park as you come up Parrin Lane (B5299) from Worsley Road (B5211). The car park entrance is as you go over the canal bridge and before you reach the roundabout. Nearest postcode for Sat Nav is The Waterside pub at the top of Parrin Lane, which is opposite the Dukes Drive Visitor Car Park entrance (M30 8AN) but don't rely on this only. Follow the instructions above too. Dukes Drive is easily accessible along Worsley Road and then up Parrin Lane from both Junctions 11 and 13 of the M60.

IMPORTANT - Due to current Covid-19 requirements and protocols 

1 - Participants must stay 2m apart wherever possible (min 1m+) and respect other participants personal space upon arrival, during and when leaving a session. 

2 - Participants must adhere to instructions given by the instructor at all times including walking patterns adopted by the group and the adoption of double bubble small groups. 

3 - Face coverings are optional. However please bring one with you in case they are needed. (a scarf or similar is fine). It is also advisable to bring a small bottle of hand sanitiser with you. 

4 - Strapless or strapped Nordic Walking poles may be hired at a cost of £1 (coin on the day). All poles are disinfected between use and quarantined for 72 hours before use. 

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictates it! 

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water 2 - any medications you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications.

Please note - you can cancel online up to 24 hours before the walk. Unfortunately, automatic refunds are not allowed after this time. Please contact Susan directly via phone/text on 07738 931710 if you need to cancel nearer to the start time so we’re not waiting for you. Likewise, please phone/text as well as using the online system if you want to book on at the last minute - we don`t want to go without you!
