Walk Description:

Centred on one of the most scenic sections of the Dorset coast between Worth Matravers and St. Aldhelm’s Head this guided walk focuses on the vital role that the Telecommunications Research Establishment, who were located on this promontory between 1940 and 1942, played in the development of radar and the defence of the country during the Second World War.

The spectacular views along the coast from Portland Bill in the west to Anvil Point in the east will enable us to explore the stories that tell of the vital role this region of Dorset played not just in the air, but at sea and on the land in both the First and Second World Wars.
