Walk Description:
The Glen Parva Nature Reserve and Great Central Way provide a fantastic opportunity to explore the local area and the wildlife found within it. This Explorer WALX is for pole walkers and non-pole walkers alike and will provide a friendly, sociable opportunity to find out more about the world around us, while getting fitter at the same time, taking in the canal towpath and the historic Aylestone Meadows!
Meet: Glen Parva War Memorial Hall, Dorothy Avenue, LE2 9JD Limited free parking. If parking on the surrouding residential streets, please be mindful and courteous of those who live in the area.
Pace: Steady, to suit the group. If you would like to use walking poles, we suggest you sign up for our Power of Poles training if you have not already been granted your Freedom Passport.
Terrain: This is a mixed terrain venue with paths of various different composition as well as undefined walkways across meadows. Some paths could get muddy. We recommend you wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather conditions at the time.
Elevation: Negligible inclines.
Refreshments: Unfortunately the Park Cafe at Glen Parva Memorial Hall is not open on a Saturday. However, we may be able to get a quick drink at the King's Lock Tearooms en route.

We aim to be respectful towards members of the public and reassure them of our safe practices. Please bring a small backpack or bum bag with water and a snack if required. Participants are required to register and complete an online health questionnaire in advance. If you feel unwell between booking and joining the class, we ask you to err on the side of caution and cancel your booking. Location Notes:
There is limited parking in the War Memorial Hall car park, but it is possible to park on the residential roads near by. Please respect the privacy of local residents and do not restrict their access to their properties. A cafe and toilets are available in Glen Parva Memorial Hall
