Join us for a Blackpool Illuminations special.
Walk the lights top to bottom after a tram ride from south to north.
Have you seen them? The sort of spectacle that everyone should see at least once, Blackpool Illuminations enthral millions of visitors every year. The greatest free light show on earth has been a major part of Blackpool’s attraction since 1879 when they were described as ‘Artificial Sunshine’.
They are 6.2 miles (10 km) long and use over one million bulbs. The display stretches along the Promenade from Starr Gate at the south end of the town to Bispham in the north.
Travel by car or train to Squires Gate. Free parking available on Squires Gate Lane or Clifton Drive North.
The tram to Bispham from Starr Gate takes approx 29 minutes.
Please aim to arrive in time to set off walking from the Bispham end by 19:15. Call Matt (07530 813225) if you will be late and we will arrange a rendevous point.
We shall walk along the route of the Illuminations past the Piers and the Tower back towards Starr Gate.
At any point you can opt to jump on a tram to complete your journey (obvs telling us before you do).
Some attendees will be dining out at Bispham Cafe before the walk commences. Arrive in plenty of time to order and eat if you fancy doing that.
It is essential to register and book in advance online.
