Walk Description:

A sociable, moderately paced ADVENTURE walk of approximately3.55 miles with a pace of 16-17 min/mile.

Mostly Gear 2 with some sustained bursts of gear 3 where appropriate and on mixed terrain.  

Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors.  

If you need to hire poles, please email nordicwalkingwatford@gmail.com. There is a £2 hire charge payable to the walk leader on the day and pole hire is subject to availability  

You need to have completed Session 2 of the POP course and be familiar with Gear 3 in order to participate in our GEAR 2+ walks

CANCELLATIONS

You are free to cancel your booking using the booking system up to the start time of the walk.

Please bear in mind that the walk leader may have already left home and may not pick up a late cancellation in a timely manner.

If you are cancelling within an hour of the walk, please try to contact the walk leader personally to let them know you are not attending.

Please ensure your PARQ is up to date and you discuss any changes to your health or medication with your walk leader.  

Please also ensure that you have any medication that you might need with you for the walk.  

We would ask you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the walk so that you can get warmed up safely.  

 

 

 

Location Notes:

There is no official car park but you can park either side of Garston Park. There are proper parking bays at the other side of the park on Coates Way and you can easily wonder across the park past the children's playground. Garston Park leads under the M1 through woods to Bricket Wood Common and then over to the lovely bridle paths and open areas of the Munden House Estate. The area stretches between Garston, Bricket Wood, Radlett and Aldenham. Routes from this venue may include paved pathways, woodland footpaths, tracks and open fields and gentle inclines.
