Walk Description:

Lyme Park

Join us at I'd Rather Be Outdoors exploring varied circular routes inside and outside of Lyme Park, we usually meet in The Timberyard for a short warm-up, before setting off on our walk.

Engage in sociable group walks that not only enhance your physical well-being but also boost your mental health through outdoor exercise.

After the walk there is a short stretch too.

Nestling on the edge of the Peak District, Lyme was once home to the Legh family, and in its heyday a great sporting estate.

The estate is 1400 acres, so offers lots of different walks with stunning views, and we may see some of their famous red deer herd, and the highland cattle too.

The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, weather etc

Optional refreshments afterwards in The Timberyard Cafe., or Ale Cellar Cafe

Gears 1 and Hill techniques 9:30-11:00

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best

2  A small rucksac

3  Light refreshments (water, fruit juice, etc)

4 Mobile phone is useful for any last minute changes

5 Walk Leaders mobile number 07718314966

6 Please contact me if you need to hire poles, £1 payable on the day of the walk

Dogs - If you bring a dog it must be on a lead and under control at all times, I use a harness with mine and would be happy to offer advice on buying one, you must also be able to help your dog over stiles etc. where needed.

First Aid - You will need to bring your own basic First Aid Kit (Plasters, Bite and Sting Cream, Suncream etc recommended)

The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.

Whilst we do understand that sometimes it is not possible to make a class, please be aware that we do operate a no refund policy if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice. To see the full policy click HERE
