Walk Description:

A new route from Marcia's Farm.

Taking a loop across the river/weir, we walk along the water meadows before crossing the river

to the main road. From here we head up to the trailway. Going away from the old railway station we

walk along this excellent trail then climb uphill into woods emerging onto fields and grassy paths.

We will go past an old tower used in the past for silage and into some beautiful countryside with

stunning views.

There is a downhill section which could be slippy after rain. A quiet lane, across fields, some grassy

paths, then uphill into woodland.

A descent leads down a country lane to Charlton Marshall. There is an alternative route

at this point which I can discuss on the day so we can choose.

Then back up onto the trailway for the final portion on the flat before arriving in Spetisbury.

Parking at Marcia's Farm. Toilets are right at the back of the building accessed across the yard.

This walk is around 6.5 miles. One uphill section is made easier by going up through the wood on a

gradual gradient.

There is some long grass and a couple of quiet lanes so paws on poles suggested.

Waterproof walking shoes required for the section over the fields beside the river. If this area floods the

walk re routes.

As we are now out of season Marcia's bar and coffee shop are shut until 4pm.

I suggest bringing hot drinks and a snack to have after the walk or during the walk as we will take a few

breaks as we go along.

Location Notes:

The turning into Clapcotts Farm is opposite Spetisbury Primary School. It is at the far end of the village if you are coming from Wimborne on the right hand side on A350. The turning is tucked awayso look for Marcias Market sign....There is large un-tarmacked parking area where we can park.
