Walk Description:

RUTH`S LONGER 2-3 HOUR TUESDAY WANDERER MONTHLY WALK (meet at 10.20am for a prompt 10.30am start time) - Led by Parks and Pathways Walk Leader Ruth Evans. It will be a moderate pace 2 -3 hour walk of around 5 to 8 miles from different locations taking place once a month when Ruth is available. 

THIS WEEK – Tatton Park from Rostherne Lane . This is a walk of around 5 miles. This interesting walk will take us through Tatton Park on both roads and grass tracks and on our route, we will see the Mansion, the Choragic Monument, both Melchett and Tatton meres, Millenium Wood, Mill Pond and the Airbourne Forces memorial as well as the many deer in the park. There will be a brew/food (or bring your own) stop mid walk at Tatton Stableyard where there are also toilet facilities. 

Meeting point – Rostherne Lane, Knutsford near to the junction with New Road. From the M56 take the A556/A56 exit towards Birmingham/M6/Northwich/Lymm.Keep right.Continue onto A556 Birmingham(M6) Northwich A556. Take the A5034 exit towards A50 At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Chester Rd Turn right onto Rostherne Ln. Parking is on Rostherne Lane near the Almhouses. SATNAV – WA16 6RY. The Almshouses are on the LHS of Rostherne Lane just after the junction with New Road as you approach from the  Chester Road end of Rostherne Lane or on the right hand side just before the junction with New Road if you approach from the Ashley Road end of Rostherne Lane.

PLEASE NOTE, you need to have your own poles to attend this walk as no poles will be available for hire unless by advance prior arrangement. 

We may be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive walking boots or shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains).

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water /hot or cold drink 2 - any medications you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications. Depending on the time of year you may need sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat ( if hot) plus hat, gloves, warm clothing and a flask (if cold!).
