Walk Description:

Note 10.20am meet up for a prompt 10.30am start. Led by Walk Leader, Miriam Kletz  The Fire up your Friday walk is an moderate pace of around 5-6 miles, ideal for those who who would like to build their distance and stamina. The walks are based in countryside locations easily accessed from the East Lancashire Road (A580) or M56/M60/M62/M61 corridors.  Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! When allowed/feasible there is an optional brew stop at a local cafe or pub after the walk or sometimes a bring your own mid walk 'Rucksack cafe'.  

THIS MONTH - Join Miriam for The Trans Pennine Trail & Cheshire Ring walk from Little Manor, Thelwall. This 5 mile winter walk takes us along the Trans Pennine Trail to Lymm, returning to Thelwall along a section of the Cheshire Ring/Bridgewater canal. Optional Lunch at Little Manor after the walk. No toilet facilities before the walk. The nearest facilities are at Lymm Truck Stop services on the Lymm interchange roundabout at the junction of the M6 & M56. Please let Miriam know if you want to stay for lunch when you book the walk. 

Meeting point: Little Manor, Bell Lane, Thelwall, Warringinton WA5 2SX -Take the M56 to junction ( (Lymm Interchange) the junction with the M6. Follow signs for the A50 (Knutsford Road). Take the A50 to its crossroads with the A56. Turn right onto the A56, continue for 3/4 of a mile then turn left onto the B5157 Bell Lane. Little Manor is 1/4 mile on the left. Park in Little Manor where we meet in the car park.

PLEASE NOTE, you need to have your own poles to attend this walk as no poles will be available for hire on the day unless by prior arrangement. 

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive shoes/trainers/boots with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). 

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water and an energy boosting snack 2 - any medications you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications. Depending on the time of year you may need sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat ( if hot) and gloves, warm clothing and a flask (if cold!).

Unfortunately, refunds are not allowed after this time. Please contact Miriam directly via phone/text on 07940 494791 if you need to cancel nearer to the start time so we’re not waiting for you. Likewise, please phone/text as well as using the online system if you want to book on at the last minute - we don`t want to go without you!

Take the M56 to junction 9 (Lymm Interchange) the junction with the M6. Follow signs for A50 (Knutsford Road). Take the A50 to its crossroads with A56. Turn right onto A56 continue ¾ mile turn left onto B5157 Bell Lane, then Little Manor is ¼ mile on the left.
