Walk Description:
Enjoy the huge open space of Salisbury Plain and the sound of the larks. Long gentle inclines on turf and hard tracks. The exact route will be defined by army maneuvers on the day but it will include a long gentle incline up the grassy training gallops. This incline is ideal to establish a good rhythm, it can be used to improve cardio fitness and or intervals. This walk is between 3 and 4 miles and therefore time may vary accordingly.
Gear 1 - A nice, easy and natural pace that you can do for extended periods with recovery periods where appropriate. Short hills might be introduced.
Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.
Remember to bring your own water bottle, weather suitable clothing for the weather on the day.
Location Notes:
Go through Ludgershall, turning right in the centre, and continue on A342 towards Devizes. After a few miles at the T-junction, turn left on to A338 Tidworth Road. At the first tank crossing turn right and follow the track a short way - using the What 3 Words for precise location of the turning off the road on to the tank track. Meeting point is further up the track on the right hand side (devoured.unframed.surprises) There are no WC facilities.
