Walk Description:

Join Sally to explore the amazing Wareham Forest - miles of tracks and trails with surprising viewpoints and a mix of terrain from heathland heather to unique bogs (we won't walk in that!)  Stunning trees, full of birdsong and plenty of deer and other wildlife too. Uneven ground, water, tree roots and mud at times.

We meet in the Sika Trail Car Park for a  circular route through the Wareham Forest.

Please bring a drink and snack as we will have a coffee stop at the Decoy House

Free parking. No toilets.

Location Notes:

Take the Bere Regis road from Wareham. Travel for about 1 mile, as you leave the outskirts of Wareham look for the sign to the Sika Trail Car Park on the right-hand side. Alternatively if you are you are coming from Bakers arms roundabout head towards Wareham on the A351. At the Holton Heath roundabout, Sandford roundabout and the Morden Road roundabout continue straight on. AT the next roundabout take the 2nd exit right and then at the bottom of the hill roundabout (which is at the back of the railway crossing) also second exit right onto the Bere Road. Continue for approximately 1 mile through the residential area and beyond the 50 mph limit. You will see a sign on the left to the Sika Trail Car Park which is just 100m past the sign on the right hand side of the road.
