Walk Description:

Xmas Eve Morning Walk

Come and join us on our last walk before Xmas, so you can have a guilt free Xmas day, almost...........

Santa hats and Christmas jumpers optional!!

Setting off from The Railway at Rose Hill we'll head out through the streets and paths of Marple to Marple Locks, where we'll join the canal and head along it towards New Mills, we then leave the canal for the short climb to Marple Ridge where there are fine views of the surrounding areas. Dropping down through Hawk Green we cross the Macclesfield Canal and head along it back towards Marple before heading for the Middlewood Way where we return to the start.

Gears 1 and 2, with some hills and beautiful scenery.

Distance 8.3km with an overall ascent of 126M.

Optional drinks afterwards in The Railway

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best

2  A small rucksac

3  Light refreshments (water, fruit juice, etc)

4 Mobile phone is useful for any last minute changes

5 Walk Leaders mobile number

6 Please contact me if you need to hire poles, £1 payable on the day of the walk

Dogs - If you bring a dog it must be on a lead and under control at all times, I use a harness with mine and would be happy to offer advice on buying one, you must also be able to help your dog over stiles etc. where needed.

Equipment – If you haven`t treated yourself to poles yet, poles are available to hire on the day for £1, please let Tim know so he can provide some.

The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.

Whilst we do understand that sometimes it is not possible to make a class, please be aware that we do operate a no refund policy if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice. To see the full policy click HERE
