Walk Description:

Beginners Nordic Walking Courses. (Power of Poles Intro) 16th and 28th November These are a great way to get started with Nordic walking, whether for health, fitness or simply exercising effectively outside.Walking with poles is less stressful on the joints, it makes you walk faster with very little extra effort, it works your upper body as well as the legs.The result being more effective calorie burning, stronger core and toning of the upper body.The initial session is 90 minute session, you'll learn the basics of Nordic walking, gaining the skills to get the most from your own walking as well as being able to join national Nordic Walking UK and WALX classes.Once the first session is completed, two regular walks or one longer walk are included with IRBO, and everything we did in the first session will come together. (Must be taken within four weeks of the course.)Locally, you'll be able to book into any of our I'd Rather Be Outdoors Nordic Walks and you can join walks & classes, every week all around the UK.  Poles are provided for the course.   Parking charges do apply if you're not a member of the National Trust.  Booking Essential   

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best (no Jeans)

2  A small rucksac (no Shoulder bags)

3  Light refreshments (water, fruit juice, etc)

4 Mobile phone is useful for any last minute changes

5 Walk Leaders mobile number

 

Dogs - No dogs on courses
