Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

On Wednesdays we like to explore further afield and undertake longer more challenging walks. Poles are optional on an Open WALX - if you would like to try some poles please contact me in advance.

Today`s Walk:

Today we are at Ashdown House for a walk through woods to The the Ridgeway to Wayland Smithy and up to Uffington Castle then back via Lambourne Valley Way and Odstone Down and Weathercock Hill to Ashdown House.

Its undulating but not too hilly. Likely to be muddy especially in places where we have to walk on fields.

This walk is a longer walk and is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless activiator poles.

Length and Grade: Around 8 miles - more details to follow

Location: Start at the car park at Ashdown House - free NT car park.

Notes: There are no facilites on this walk so please bring a picnic for a end of walk drink where we can sit and take in the views (weather permitting) or we can drive to a local cafe if preferred.

Location Notes:

NT car park but free. House only open on Wednesday
