Walk Description:

NOTE 10AM START TIME - MONTHLY WALK - Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the`All Together Now`2 to 2.5 hour moderate to faster pace adventure walk is a monthly sociable Nordic walk of around 4 - 5 miles around some of the lovely greenspace & walking routes in South Manchester you may not be aware of. Build your fitness & stamina. This walk replaces the Monday Blaster Workout Walk on one Monday a month. 

NEW ROUTE - THIS MONTH - OUT AND BACK TO THE RIVERBANK CAFE, SALE - STARTING FROM LONGFORD PARK, STRETFORD at 10am. We may be back slightly later at 12.45 depending on the pace on the day.  This is an out & back 5 mile route via Turn Moss, Stretford Meadows, the Trans Pennine Trail & Kickety Brook with a 30 minute mid walk pit stop at the Riverbank Cafe,by the River Mersey.  It may be muddy in places so please be prepared footwear-wise. Toilets are available at the cafe in Longford Park & also at the RiverbankCafe (Portaloos so I suggest you bring hand gel with you). There is a 10% discount off the price of a brew at the Riverbank cafe if you bring a standard size (not tall) reusable cup that fits under their coffee machine. 

Nearest metrolink stop is Stretford, a short walk from the park down Edge Lane.

Meeting point - Car Park at Longford Park Athletics Club Stadium, Stretford  M21 9TA. Plenty of free parking at the stadium. Turn off the A56 Chester Road onto A5145 Edge Lane.  Turn into Ryebank Road is on the left. Then take the second left down to the parking area by the Athletics Club Stadium. .

Strapless or strapped Nordic walking poles may be hired at a cost of £1 (coin on the day). 

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictates it! 

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water or a hot drink in a flask 2 - any medications/inhalers you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications.

Please note - you can cancel online up to the evening before the walk. Unfortunately, automatic refunds are not allowed after this time. Please contact Susan directly via phone/text on 07738 931710 if you need to cancel nearer to the start time so we’re not waiting for you. Likewise, please phone/text as well as using the online system if you want to book on at the last minute - we don`t want to go without you!
