Todays walk: A easier morning walk at Martinsell Hill
Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – it makes something we can all do… twice as effective! Nordic Walking uses poles to in order to add two major benefits to walking.
The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs The poles help to propel the walker along – this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.
Note: To participate in regular Nordic WALX, you must have completed our Nordic Freedom Course.
You must re-visit your PARQ and answer all questions including decalrations on COVID 19. Please bring your own equipement or if you need to borrow poles you will be provided with Activator strapless poles which are much easier to clean.
All activities will respect social distancing guidelines of 2 metres apart.
You can wear a mask if you would prefer to but this is not mandatory.
Location Notes:
The car park is found off the A345 Marlborough to Pewsey Rd at turn off to Clench Common. If you are coming from Marlborough you turn left at this jucntion (from Pewsey would be right) After you turn off this road drive about 2/3 mile and the car park is on your right after some woods. Please note this is a remote car park used by walkers. Do not leave any valuables in your car in plain sight.
