Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

On Fridays we like to start and end our walk (or drive a short way) at a local cafe. The walks are around 4-5 miles and take around 2 hours.

Poles are optional on an Open WALX - if you would like to try some poles please contact me in advance.

Today's Walk: Alton Barnes White Horse & Milk Hill

A different version of a favourite walk. Today we walk up from Honeystreet to Adams Grave. A walk along the ridge via Milk Hill and then downwards towards Stanton St Bernard and back to the start.

Pace & Intensity: Fairly moderate paced walk suitable for most abilities.

Gradient: there are some hills which can be taken slowly.

Miles: This walk is around 5 miles.

Notes: Park in the overflow car park which is found just before the cafe on the right coming from Alton Barnes direction. We can then have a coffee/tea at the cafe at the end of the walk.

Location Notes:

Please park in the overflow carpark which is on right before the cafe turn off when coming from Alton Barnes. If you are joining us after the walk then feel free to park in the main cafe car park.
