Walk Description:

Starting from The Bridge House Hotel we will be able to access Longham Lakes.

Crossing the road at some bollards we go down a narrow flat path which leads straight to the lakes.

There is a slight slope to get up to the path around the Lakes.

At this time of year(Nov) the birds are starting to gather, feel free to bring binoculars. There are

Cormorants, Swans and many other species. They are mainly on the large lake.

The otter who lives in the local river comes along for fish from time to time.

The small lake is for people to fish, there is a carpark for Lakes Trust members.

They are naturalised man made lakes that form part of the fresh water supply. They are thirty feet deep.

It can be breezy at the lakes so please have layers and maybe a hat.

The paths are good with very small slopes from time to time.

This is a gentle walk and we can stop when ever we wish for water and to look at anything interesting.

There is one toilet on the route.

The parking is by kind permission of the hotel who appreciate people coming in for coffee etc, after their

walk.

Without being a member of the Lakes Trust (which covers all the Southern Lakes) it is difficult to

park anywhere nearby for a group.

This walk is just under 3 miles long.

Location Notes:

Please enter carpark, the barrier will be raised. We will meet in the carpark. Toilets in the hotel and also by the Lake.
