Walk Description:

New Mills Boundary Walk 3 New Route!

The aim of these walks is to cover most of the Boundary of New Mills (which is 18 miles) over a series of walks.  Taking in a mixture of Woods, Riverside, Canals, Country Roads and fine views of the surrounding areas too.

On this walk we'll be heading out through Tors Country Park before crossing the Goyt and heading up to the Peak Forest Canal we then descend back to the Goyt and re-cross following paths through farms and passing under the railway we then turn towards New Mills once more and finish our walk on the Sett Vallley Trail.

6km with an ascent of 160m, please allow 2hours for the walk.

Below is where we are meeting to start our walk

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best (No jeans)

2  Please use a small backpack to put spare layers in, backpacks with a chest strap and room to move your upper arms forward and backward are best. (No overshoulder bags)

3  Light refreshments (water, fruit juice, etc)

4 Mobile phone is useful for any last minute changes

6 Please contact me if you need to hire poles, £1 payable on the day of the walk

Dogs - If you bring a dog it must be on a lead and under control at all times, I use a harness with mine and would be happy to offer advice on buying one, you must also be able to help your dog over stiles etc. where needed.

Equipment – If you haven`t treated yourself to poles yet, poles are available to hire on the day for £1, please let Tim know so he can provide some.

The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.

Whilst we do understand that sometimes it is not possible to make a class, please be aware that we do operate a no refund policy if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice. To see the full policy click HERE
