Walk Description:

Parking at Pamphill green the walk goes over the green, down the hill towards the river Stour.

From Eye bridge we follow the river towards Cowgrove and the duck pond.

This walk has unspoilt countryside, ancient trees and exquisite cottages.

We pass close to the medieval site of the Moot which is where the manor court met once a fortnight.

The offences and disputes of the tenants were tried and punished.

The end section is on Sandy lane with deep banks which in season have beautiful flowers.

In Spring stopping at the bluebell woods on the way up to the green is definitely worthwhile.

This walk has five stiles and can be muddy. Several stiles are the walk through variety.

There is also a wooded copse to explore which adds on half a mile and another couple of stiles.

This extended route is only suitable in dry weather. Long grass wet after rain coming back across the

fields.

Cows in this area.

Toilets and refreshments at Pamphill Dairy just round the corner. There is a take away facility in the

summer with discount for supplying your own coffee cup.

Location Notes:

Free Parking. No facilities but Pamphill Dairy is a short walk away with a cafe, toilet and a farm shop. Meet near the boards that lead onto the Green. This is the church end and not the School end.
