Walk Description:
This comprehensive course, suitable for all ages and fitness levels will help you understand how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun and challenges.
Feel your whole body and core work with every step!
Burn more calories and feel lighter on your feet!
Walk further, faster and for longer, with less effort uphill and downhill!
Learn about different techniques, the key moves, pole types and how to size them!
Meet: Beacon Hill, near to Windmill Hill Car Park (free parking on Beacon Road, just before Woodhouse Eaves, or pay and display in Windmill Hill Car Park - pay by phone).
Pace: Steady, to suit the group. Walking poles are provided for you to use on this training course.
Terrain: This is a mixed terrain venue with paths of various different composition as well as undefined walkways which could get muddy.
Clothing: Please dress to the prevailing weather conditions. The ground will be wet underfoot. Suitable walking boots/shoes will be required.
Elevation: Modest inclines.

Participants are required to register and complete an online health questionnaire in advance. If you feel unwell between booking and joining the class, we ask you to err on the side of caution and cancel your booking. Location Notes:
Meet in the Pay and Display Car Park for Broombriggs Farm and Windmill Hill, off Beacon Road. We will walk over to Beacon Hill from there. Parking is free for season ticket holders or £2.50 all day. The council are operating cash-less pay and display machines. Toilets are available in the lower and Upper car parks at Beacon Hill. There is a cafe in the lower carpark.
