Walk Description:
The POWER of THE POLES is a structured programme suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Come and discover the joys of Nordic Walking and how to turn your walking into total body exercise using strapless Total Body WALX poles which will enable you to learn more quickly and easily.
Your NWUK qualified instructor, Susan Spain, will help you understand your current level of fitness and empower you to use poles at an intensity level for the results you want. The session also includes advice on the different types of pole available including traditional strapped Nordic Walking poles.
Poles (strapless) are provided for your course.
Currently taught in a small group (max 2 plus instructor), at the end of the 90 minutes you will have a full understanding of how to use poles effectively and at a level where you can then join our Parks and Pathways regular walks and classes, sign up to other NWUK or WALX classes or simply get more out of walking in your own time.
The session price of £15 also includes your first walk with the group once you've completed your induction session. Your instructor will give you advice on which regular sessions are best suited to you. Regular walk sessions take place on Thursday & Saturday mornings at Salford venues & Monday mornings at Chorlton Water Park, Manchester (see full schedule for more info on the 1 hour Workout Walks or Motivator/Strider Walks. There are also monthly 2 or 3 hour walks on several dates a month).
There will also be an option to sign up to a second Power of the Poles 2 - 90 minute course - at a later date to enhance & refresh your technique either with strapless or strapped poles.
