Walk Description:

NOTE 11.40am START TIME this week. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the Thursday Motivator Nordic Walk is an gentle/easy pace 1 hour walk. This session is ideal for those wanting to improve their fitness & who just want to have a Nordic Walk, fresh air and chat. Start times and locations vary to give variety on a week by week basis so please check carefully each week but will be in the Salford area.

THIS WEEK - BEESLEY GREEN WORSLEY - for loopline & woodland walk.

Meeting point -  Beesley Green, Worsley. Meet in the free car park at Beesley Green Community Centre which is just off Greenleach Lane, Worsley. Leave the M60 at junction 13. At the Worsley interchange roundabouts, follow signs for A575 (Walkden Road). Follow the A575 Walkden Road for half a mile then turn right onto Greenleach Lane. After 0.3mile turn right into Beesley Green. Watch for the turning which is quite narrow and is before the turning down to Roe Green Cricket Club. Also approached from the A580 East Lancashire Road by turning left onto the A575 Walkden Road, then left onto Greenleach Lane. There is parking for up to 30 cars in the car park (or plenty of onroad parking/use the adjacent Roe Green Cricket Club car park). No toilets available unless the community centre is open.

Google Maps - search for Beesley Green (not by post code)

What3Words:///sock.roofs.boots takes you to the community centre and ///pulse.scuba.given takes you to the turning down to the car park off Greenleach Lane.

Strapless or strapped Nordic walking poles may be hired at a cost of £1 (coin on the day).

We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive walking boots or shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictates it!

Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water or a hot drink in a flask 2 - any medications/inhalers you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications.

Please note - you can cancel online up to the evening before the walk. Unfortunately, automatic refunds are not allowed after this time. Please contact Susan directly via phone/text on 07738 931710 if you need to cancel nearer to the start time so we’re not waiting for you. Likewise, please phone/text as well as using the online system if you want to book on at the last minute - we don`t want to go without you!
