Walk Description:
From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.
On Fridays we like to start and end our walk (or drive a short way) at a local cafe. The walks are around 4-5 miles and take around 2 hours.
Poles are optional on an Open WALX - if you would like to try some poles please contact me in advance.
Today's Walk: Aldbourne Circular Walk.
Starting in the village we walk out towards Sugar Hill and then back via the Aldbourne Circular Route. Mostly grassy tracks and bridleways. Please note there is a short section on the Lottage Rd between two foot paths.
Pace & Intensity: Fairly moderate paced walk suitable for most abilities.
Gradient: there are some hills which can be taken slowly.
Miles: This walk is around 5 miles.
Notes: Park in the village and meet near the pond. There are plenty of spaces around the village if there are no spaces left at the pond.
Cafe: the Aldbourne Post office and Deli. Please let me know if you are staying for coffee as I need to book a table.
Location Notes:
Park in the square or in surrounding streets and meet in the square. Car share if possible as parking is limited with more people working from home. Public toilet available and also at the pub and post office.
