Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

On Wednesdays we like to explore longer walks around the Pewsey Vale and North Wessex Downs.

Today's Walk: Starting today at Scots Pour just off the Chute Causeway. We walk back towards the village of Tidcombe and ancient long barrow. Then back up to the Causeway to pick up the ridge towards Fosbury Hill Fort. We will determine on the day whether we walk this far or just half way into the valley of Hippenscombe Bottom (made famous by Eric Ravilous in on of his war time paintings) and back to the start.

Length and Grade: 6-8 miles - depending on conditions we may do a longer walk or cut if shorter - a few ups and downs.

Location: Scots Pour - parking is fairly limited here and I would encourage car sharing on this walk if possible.

Notes: No refreshments or toilets availale today. Bring water and a snack as this is a longer walk. The walk may have some muddy sections.

 Open to those without poles.

Location Notes:

Park along the road where you can or on the open area opposite the cottage. Parking is VERY limited so please do car shares if possible today.
