Limestone Way Walk: Winster to Nine Ladies Stone Circle

Starting from the picturesque village of Winster, this full-day walk follows the Limestone Way, exploring the historic mining landscape of the Peak District. The route takes you through scenic woodlands, including the tranquil Clough Wood, and past Birchover Quarry. You’ll then visit the ancient Nine Ladies Stone Circle, a mystical Bronze Age monument set in a peaceful moorland location. We continue through beautiful valleys and return via Birchover, picking up the Limestone Way once more. With over 500 meters of ascent, this 5+ hour walk offers stunning views, historic sites, and a rich mix of nature and heritage.
