Walk Description:

Rowarth and lantern Pike

Special Event No freedom passport needed to book on.

We start in the village of Rowarth, dropping down to the picturesque Little Mill Inn. We then follow a country road to a Bridle path which leads up to the back of Lantern Pike from there we do almost a lap of Lantern Pike before ascending it, (there is a the option of  a slightly lower path too.) After the summit we drop down and rejoin the Pennine Bridleway before heading back through the countryside to Rowarth.   There are great views to be had no matter which direction you look on the walk, including the moorland leading up to Kinder Scout.   Paths are a mixture of small streams, roads and rocky uneven surfaces so please make sure you wear suitable footwear.

There's no need to worry about navigation, allowing you to take time to soak in the stunning views and enjoy great company.

Led by an experienced Nordic Walking Instructor who is Outdoor First Aid Trained and will support you along the way.

Walk length 8km           290m Height Gain          (Optional drink afterwards in The Little Mill.)

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best

2  A small rucksac
