Walk Description:

An easy walk around Rushcombe Bottom and surrounding area. It is around 3.5 miles, there are some gentle inclines. Paths can be stoney, muddy in winter and uneven.

There is some road walking and we pass several Lady Wimborne cottages. We walk beside a small holding with various animals, usually some friendly pigs.

Corfe Hills Nature Park includes areas of woodland, heathland, meadows and pastures, connected by footpaths and guided trails. Grazing plays an important role in the management of many habitats.

From Rushcombe Bottom, we pass some rural properties, then walk a short distance on Ashington Cutting (accessed by a flight of wooden steps with a hand rail ) which is part of an old disused railway line. We continue on to walk a loop at Happy Bottom Nature Reserve, positioned at the northern end of the Corfe Barrows Nature Park and owned and managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust.

We will meet at the junction of Roman Heights and Jupiter Way. There is free street parking.

No toilets, nearest at The Recreation ground or behind the big Co Op.
