Walk Description:

Come and join WALX Dorset group for a wander around the majestic pines of Wareham Forest.

A sociable pace to cater for a friendly walk - you can pace ahead if you want or you can cut the corners. A walk for those that need to get out for some fresh air, fitness and chat.

Trails can be muddy in places with a mixture of terrain, rooty and sandy, gentle climbs to get to the amazing viewpoints in the forest.

Connect with nature and like-minded walkers - bring poles and dogs if they are wellbehaved.

No facilities at the car park.

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather of the day and bring water.

Location Notes:

Take the Bere Regis road from Wareham. Travel for about 1 mile, as you leave the outskirts of Wareham look for the sign to the Sika Trail Car Park on the right-hand side. Alternatively if you are you are coming from Bakers arms roundabout head towards Wareham on the A351. At the Holton Heath roundabout, Sandford roundabout and the Morden Road roundabout continue straight on. AT the next roundabout take the 2nd exit right and then at the bottom of the hill roundabout (which is at the back of the railway crossing) also second exit right onto the Bere Road. Continue for approximately 1 mile through the residential area and beyond the 50 mph limit. You will see a sign on the left to the Sika Trail Car Park which is just 100m past the sign on the right hand side of the road.
