Walk Description:
Saturday Explorer 3/4 day walk
This scenic circular walk begins in the historic market town of Bakewell, known for its picturesque streets and famous Bakewell Pudding. Leaving the town, the route gently climbs over the Carlton Pastures, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The path continues through the tranquil Lees Moor Wood, before descending towards the medieval Haddon Hall, a beautifully preserved manor house with a rich history.
Crossing the A6, the walk enters the breathtaking Lathkill Dale, a limestone valley renowned for its clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and abundant wildlife. The route then ascends towards the village of Over Haddon, where you can stop for refreshments at a traditional country pub.
From here, the trail winds through open farmland and rolling green fields, passing through peaceful woodland before leading back to Bakewell.
